Guido Mocafico is a versatile Swiss photographer. His portfolio is filled with works that deals with the most diverse themes, going from still life to fire weapons, from spiders to roses. All of his projects are beautifully shot, with precise lights and colors, but two of them stand out from the others: the Movement and Serpens series.

On the Movement series, Mocafico gets beautiful compositions shooting gears and mechanisms of watches. The circular structures, full of small parts, details and colors resemble mandalas, ancient Buddhist and Hindu symbols that represent the relation between men and cosmos. So the photographer seems to suggest the importance of measured and counted time in the complex life of contemporary men.

On the Serpens series, the photographer uses the patterns and colors given by nature to snakes, composing pictures full of textures and curves, using these (usually) repulsive animals to create beautiful images. Even though only a few have sympathy for these reptiles, the photographic series is, or at least should be, a unanimity.
