Old books and encyclopedias full of illustrations and engravings: do you like them? Alexander Korzer Robinson does, and it’s on these dusty volumes that he develops his art.

The German, who now lives in Bristol, England, carefully searches through the pages of these tomes after their best illustrations, selecting the ones he wants to take part on the final work. He then cuts around the chosen figures, removing the rest of the pages and thus creating three-dimensional compositions that aesthetically resemble collages.

Finally, the book is sealed around the cut, and can no longer be opened.
