Colors and movements of the urban night

The great and agitated centers have been dictating human’s life pace since the beginning of the last century, when the great urban machinery first began to howl. Since then, the life in the cities has been faster and more frenetic, saturated with information and movement.

This influence comes alive on the paintings by Alexandra Pacula, who seems to find true inspiration on the lights and noises of the restless urban night, depicting dazzled scenes with the genuine wonderment, a typical feature on Jack Kerouac’s novels, which described the enormous enchantment hidden behind every corner, within each bar.

Simulating the effects of long-time exposure photography, her paintings try to portray the big whirl of sensations that fills the city every night.
